Everyone has mentioned the existance of tiny chunks of land, or brand new islands here and there. Why has no one said "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO SILITHUS?!!!!"
Looks quite gone if you ask me.
For speculative purposes I could only suggest that the naga melting ice in northrend caused the loss of several land masses.
No Kul'Tiras, sigh.

the area in Silithus is only the raid instance.

Silithus will be there just like we know. Blizzard erases only the area of the Instance. The GM-Place 2 is directly south of this Area.

Maybe that is the Reason for erasing this area.

well you where right the silth map for WOTLK matches the silth map from the original wow intro
also the islands could have something to do with the scurge, The LK or mabie other expnsions also yes only the raid instance will be effected on the map.
One strange thing i have noticed about blizz is that no new map for WOTLK has been released since they added QD. Will there be QD in WOTLK. pretty sure.
Also the unhilighted area above WPL and EPL will be NPL northern plage lands and that will be for DKs.

Ok, it seems like nobody saw a change between the original map and the BC map, if you see the piece of land that corresponds to Silvermoon, you'll see that the land was separated in the first Map, and then the WHOLE land changes XD
